The study of fluid dynamics reveals a meeting point between physical law and invisible influence. By observing the natural behaviour of moving particles, we are invited to question the resonant forces that exist both within and beyond our perceptible reality, and the extent to which they shape our experience of being.
Fluid phenomena occur independently of human intervention, governed by the inherent laws of physics. Yet within this apparent chaos exists a narrow field of unpredictability: A space in which influence, intention, and perception begin to alter outcome.
Where does the line between physics and art exist?
It is within this threshold that the distinction between natural occurrence and artistic creation emerges.
While physical phenomena can generate forms of extraordinary beauty without conscious direction, art begins where intention becomes integral to the act of creation. Influence lays the foundation for unpredictability to transform into expression; a negotiation between control and surrender that sits at the core of my practice.
